Welcome 2002 Graduates of Chatham High School

Welcome new CHS alumni. One hundred sixty five members of CHS Class of '02 have joined the ranks of the alumni. We welcome them and wish them well in their future endeavors. We hope that they will keep us posted on their future class activities and look forward to their participation in future Chatham High School Reunions!!

Caitlin F. Christian Wins Paul E. Harris, Jr. Award

The 2002 winner of the Paul E. Harris, Jr. award is Caitlin F. Christian. She will attend Vanderbilt University next year. Her activities during high school included: Senior Class President, Varsity Cross Country (9,10,11,12) Co-Captain (10,11,12) 1st team all conference (9,10) 2nd team all county (10) Varsity Indoor Track, member of Group 1 State Champion 4x800 meter relay team (9) Varsity Outdoor Track 1st team all conference (10) tri-captain (11) JV Lacrosse (9) Key Club (9,10,11,12) Delegate at NJ District Conference (10) Captain of District and International Projects (11) CHS Newspaper - writer (10) Opinions Page Editor/writer (11) Copy Editor/writer (12) 4-H Club, raised seeing eye dogs (9,10) Teens Against Tobacco Use (10,11) Peers Adjusting With Support "PAWS" (11,12) Latin National Honor Society (10,11,12) Public Address Announcer one morning a week for CHS (11,12) Writer for the Daily Record "Morris County Teen Voices (11) Student Council (11,12) Academic Team (11,12) "Magna cum Laude" on the National Latin Exam (11,12) NCAA National Student-Athlete Day Award (11) Sunday School Teacher (9,10,11,12) 4th grade tutor (11) Girl's State Nominee (11) Lifeguard during the summers (9,10,11) Participated in "The Cambridge Tradition" program at Cambridge University (11). 

The award, named in honor of Paul Harris '53 whose love and loyalty to the people, town and high school of Chatham was inspiration for the Great Reunion, is given each year to a graduating senior who exemplifies school spirit and community pride. Originally established by the 1985 Great Reunion Steering Committee, the Award Fund is administered through the Chatham Rotary Club. Rotary Club members, Pete Steffens, '66 Chairman of both the 1985 and 1997 Great Reunions and Rich Bradley,'57 member of the Steering Committees for both reunions, oversee the investment of the Award's funds. The Award is currently $500. The recipient is selected based on recommendations of the high school guidance department.
