New Chatham School Administrators

The Chatham regionalized school district will begin the new year with a new administrative team.  Precipitated by the surprise retirement of Carol Conger, who had been Superintendent of Schools since 1991, all positions have now been filled.In January, Conger, who had years to run on a new contract, announced her retirement effective June 30

Search teams selected Assistant Superintendent Joseph Schneider to replace her, and High School Principal James O’Neill to replace Schneider as Assistant Superintendent

.Linda Batz, principal of Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Flemington, has been appointed as principal of Chatham High School. Batz will be the first woman principal of Chatham High School. Batz began her career in education when she was hired to teach English at what was the Lafayette Middle School in Chatham Township.

While there she served as eighth grade team leader, directed Lafayette’s first musical productions and organized numerous student activities.  She left the Township in 1976 to join the Hunterdon school district.
